___________

The Case:

In the early morning hours of May 20th, 2007, 21 year-old Christopher Bartholomew, was with friends at 39th and Broadway in Kansas City.

Chris was going to give friends a ride home. At that same time an argument erupted nearby between two groups of men and shots were fired.

Christopher and his friends were not involved. The victim grabbed one of the people near him in an attempt to pull them to safety and was struck by a stray bullet. He died from his injuries the next day.

A reward fund established by Chris’s family and friends has boosted to total possible for information leading to an arrest up to $30,000.

I carry your heart with me
by e. e. cummings

I carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Overview
Family Needs Answers In Senseless Murder

Chris Bartholomew was a young man with many goals. And one of them was to someday work as a police officer. However, on May 20, 2007, a senseless act not only cut Chris' hopes and dreams short -- it cut his life short. Now the 21-year-old's family is looking for justice.

That night, Chris was out with friends at a Kansas City area night spot. Chris and his friends were known as good kids, but that couldn't save them from what happened next: cops say the details are hazy, but they believe Chris fell victim to a gunfight that he had nothing to do with. Cops are unsure who the shooters were, but they say Chris got caught up in the crossfire.

Unfortunately, there are few clues to help police identify the shooters, and even worse, Chris died as a result of his injuries.

While nothing will bring Chris back, his family and friends hope that someone out there can bring them the answers and justice they deserve, and they have put up a $30,000 reward in hopes of closing this case for good.

Investigators on this case are very frustrated because they say this is a hard case to prosecute.
Description Of Vehicles May Generate Leads

Cops in Kansas City, Mo. say there were four cars involved in the shooting that killed 21-year-old Chris Bartholomew.

The first one was a Dodge Charger, whose occupants have been identified. Cops now want to know who was inside the other three cars: a 2003 Isuzu Rodeo, a 2007 Pontiac G6 and a brown car, which police believes was filled with people aligned with the passengers of the Dodge Charger.

Investigators on this case are very frustrated because they say this is a hard case to prosecute.

Det. Janice Heins says the biggest challenge is the fact that there were four cars involved, so many guns and so many people involved who aren't talking.

Det. Heins believes that the only way to solve this case is if the people involved come forward with information.
